These masterworks range from seven early settings of texts from Goethe's Faust
to the touching songs that were sketches for Tristan und Isolde,
featuring verses by Wagner's lover and patroness, Mathilde Wesendonk. Representing all of the composer's surviving works for voice and piano, they include English translations of the text, a commentary by the editor, and a glossary of German terms.
Reprint of Richard Wagner's Werke, Vol. 15: Lieder und Gesänge, Breitkopf & Härtel, 1914.
